A Wild Day at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore

Bring the family and spend a spring afternoon at the beautiful Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. The 161-acre zoo is home to more than 2,000 animals, many from threatened and endangered species. Zoo docents will give you a brief orientation and provide maps and schedules during the drive from the Baltimore Convention Center.

Once at the zoo you can take advantage of several Encounters, which will take place in front of the animal’s exhibit. These mini-lectures by the keepers on species such as penguins, giraffes, polar bears, and elephants will include fun facts about the animals. Keepers will also conduct a question-and-answer session at the end. Most of this tour is outdoors, so please wear appropriate clothing and shoes.

Veterinarians’ Baltimore Zoo Tour: A Behind-the-Scenes Look

This special behind-the-scenes tour takes place at the Zoo Animal Hospital at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. More than 2,000 animals, including many from threatened and endangered species, reside here. Zoo docents will give you a brief orientation while they pass out maps and schedules during the ride from the Baltimore Convention Center.

Tour participants will meet the zoo’s principal veterinarian, see several hospital stations, and get an insider’s view of facility operations. Because much of this tour will take place outdoors, wear appropriate clothing and shoes.

Clipper City Brewery Tour

Come take a tour of a Chesapeake Bay original - The Clipper City craft brewery.  Clipper City Brewing produces more than 14 styles of ales and lagers, and has won hundreds of international, national, and regional awards.  Your 45-minute brewery tour will include a sampling of beers. Clipper City beers are served at many Baltimore eateries, so following the brewery tour, take time to enjoy one with dinner. PHOTO ID REQUIRED.

Baltimore’s unique mix of history, culture, and charm comes to life in this popular city tour with a harbor cruise. You’ll learn the history of this seaport town and discover the vital role Baltimore played in the history of the United States. Get a close-up look at Washington Monument, take in an amazing view high atop Federal Hill, and board a boat at the Inner Harbor for a sightseeing cruise. This tour has a little bit of everything!

Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays
Take in a Major League Baseball game at world famous Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Time: Meet at 5:30 p.m. for a short walk to the ballpark; first pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
Place: Pratt Street Lobby of the Baltimore Convention Center

Washington, D.C.: A Memorable Day in a Great City

Board a comfortable charter coach for your ride to Washington, D.C., just an hour’s drive from the seaport city of Baltimore. Your knowledgeable guide will point out many of the best-known sights in the nation’s capital: the Supreme Court, the Capitol Building, the Jefferson Memorial, and the White House. You’ll stop at the National Mall, where you can snap pictures as you learn about the many monuments and memorials located there, including the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial Wall, the Korean War Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial.

You’ll also visit the Washington Mall, site of the Smithsonian Complex, also known as “the nation’s attic,” which houses hundreds of thousands of exhibits. Enjoy browsing in one of the popular Smithsonian Museum buildings, and stop for lunch on your own at a Mall eatery. After your memorable day in Washington, sit back and relax on your ride back to Baltimore.
